SNOWBALL BLOCK

The Snowball Block, also called an octagon pattern, is a very easy block to make. It is made up of one large square and four small squares. You use only two contrasting fabrics.

Directions:

1. Cut 1 large square

2. Cut 4 small square (1/3 of the large square, i.e. if the large square is 6 1/2" unfinished, the small squares would be 2 1/2" each.)

3. Draw a diagonal line on the back side of each small square.

4. Place the small squares right sides together on each corner of the larger square. Make sure the diagonal line goes from one side of the fabric to the other.

5. Sew along the diagonal lines on all four squares.

6. Trim back two fabrics, leaving about 1/4"

7. Press
